This Rev-A-Shelf 6541 Series tip-out tray converts the false drawer front below a kitchen or bath sink into working storage for sponges, scrubbers, and small sink-side items, all in a stainless steel finish built to hold up in a wet environment.
The false front panel beneath most kitchen and bathroom sinks looks like a drawer but opens to nothing, because the plumbing behind it leaves no room for a standard drawer box. A tip-out tray solves that by hinging the front panel outward on a low-profile tray that drops down for access and swings back flush when you are done. It is a natural home for the items that collect on the sink deck: sponges, scrub brushes, a soap bar, and small cleaning accessories that stay damp and benefit from staying off the counter. The stainless steel tray cleans up easily and does not absorb moisture the way a coated or painted metal tray can over time.
Stainless steel is the right material here. The tray sits directly in front of a sink and handles splashes, soap residue, and the humidity that comes with daily sink use. The 1-11/16-inch depth is shallow by design: the tray needs to fit in the gap between the drawer front and the cabinet structure without catching on supply lines or drain fittings. The two self-close hinges are included in the set and are sized for the 6541 Series tray, so the hardware and the tray arrive together and are already matched. This SKU does not include a tab stop, so the tray swings to its full open angle without a secondary catch interrupting the motion.
This tray is sized for a 16-inch false front, which covers most single-basin kitchen sink openings and many bathroom vanity configurations. Cabinet shops and contractors installing sink bases will find it straightforward to add during a build or a retrofit: the hinges mount to the cabinet face frame or sink base rail, and the tray attaches to the drawer front. Homeowners retrofitting an existing kitchen can add this tray to an unmodified false front with basic tools. For a wider sink run or a double-basin configuration, measure the false front width and check the available length options in the 6541 Series.
One stainless steel tray and two self-close hinges. Everything needed to mount and operate the tray is included.
The 6541 Series hinges are designed to mount on the sink base structure. Check the Rev-A-Shelf installation guide for your specific cabinet construction to confirm the correct hinge position for face-frame versus frameless.
A tab stop limits how far the tray swings open, keeping it at a fixed angle. This version has no tab stop, so the tray opens to its full range of travel, giving you unobstructed access to the tray interior.
Stainless steel is chosen for this application precisely because the front-of-sink location sees regular moisture, soap, and humidity. It cleans easily and does not corrode under typical kitchen or bath conditions.
This tray turns a blank false front into organized, accessible storage for the items that belong at the sink, in a stainless steel finish that handles the environment and cleans up without fuss.
