The US Futaba DynaSlide is a 24 inch side-mount ball-bearing slide with over-travel extension and a hold-in feature, rated 100 lb per pair. It is built for utility, shop, and commercial drawers where the drawer needs to clear the cabinet completely and stay shut between uses.
Over-travel is the reason to choose this slide over a standard full-extension model. When a drawer sits behind a deep face frame or under a bench overhang, full extension brings the front of the box out to the opening but leaves the back edge still inside the cabinet. Over-travel pushes the drawer further, so the rear of the box clears the obstruction entirely and the full drawer interior is reachable without pulling contents forward first. That extra travel pays off in any storage situation where the back of the drawer matters: deep utility drawers, tool storage under work surfaces, and wide shop drawers where the last few inches of depth hold the items used least often but still needed.
The hold-in detent works alongside the travel to keep the drawer in place when it is closed. On a mobile cart, in a busy shop, or in any cabinet that gets bumped or vibrated, a slide without a hold-in can let a heavy drawer drift open on its own. The detent catches the drawer at the closed position and holds it there until a deliberate pull releases it.
The DynaSlide members are formed steel with a zinc finish that resists the everyday corrosion of an indoor work environment. Side-mount installation puts one slide on each side of the drawer box with 1/2 inch of clearance per side, so the box should be sized 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening. At 100 lb per pair, fastener quality carries the rating: drive the mounting screws into solid cabinet material and use hardware appropriate to the slide's mounting holes. Screws are not included.
This is a practical workhorse slide for shops, garages, commercial casework, and institutional storage where a 100 lb class rating is enough and over-travel access to the full drawer is the priority. The non-handed design means no left-right sorting during installation, which speeds up multi-drawer runs. It is not a soft-close or self-close slide — motion is standard, so the drawer stays wherever it is left, held only by the hold-in detent at the closed position. If damped closing is a requirement, look at a soft-close over-travel model instead.
