The Grass Zargen 6036 drawer side and slide kit brings 100 lb capacity and self-closing action to cabinetry where a clean white finish is part of the design. At 3-3/8 inches tall and 18-1/2 inches long, this metal drawer system component is sized for standard kitchen and bath base cabinet runs where the interior finish is as visible as the exterior.
The 18-1/2 inch length targets base cabinets with 18 to 21 inch depths — a common run in kitchen lower cabinets, bathroom vanities, and laundry cabinetry. This length works well under cooktops and beside dishwashers, where a full 21 or 24 inch drawer would exceed cabinet depth. The white finish makes it the right call whenever the drawer box interior will be visible at any angle: white melamine boxes, light-toned cabinet interiors, or any build where a silver or zinc slide would read as a visible contrast against the carcass. Self-close keeps the drawer flush and tidy without the added cost of a damped soft-close mechanism — a practical choice for utility drawers, pantry pulls, and secondary kitchen storage where positive close matters more than cushioned action.
The Zargen side profile is formed metal, giving the drawer box its structural wall in place of a wood side. The white finish is applied to the exterior-facing surfaces of the profile. As a system component, it is engineered to work with Zargen-specific accessories: rear mounting brackets, front fixing brackets, cover caps, and gallery rails are all Zargen-matched and are not interchangeable with other Grass drawer platforms or other brands. Build the drawer box to Grass's published cutting dimensions for this nominal length and side height — the bottom panel width, back position, and any required rear notching follow the system specification, not a generic box formula.
Cabinet shops building white-on-white kitchens reach for this SKU to keep every surface consistent from front to back. Designers specifying painted cabinetry with open or semi-open storage include it when the slide must disappear into the interior. Renovators replacing worn drawer hardware in an existing white kitchen use the Zargen system to restore the original look without repainting or relining box interiors. The 100 lb capacity means this is not a light-duty drawer solution — it works for pots-and-pans drawers and heavily loaded utensil drawers just as well as it does for linens and towels.
The product is listed as a drawer side and slide kit — confirm the sold-as unit (pair or single side) before ordering to ensure you receive what completes one drawer. The structured spec block on this page shows the pack quantity.
Self-close uses a spring or ramp mechanism to pull the drawer shut over the last inch of travel. It produces a positive, audible close. Soft-close adds a hydraulic damper to slow that final motion to a silent stop. This Zargen system is self-closing, not soft-closing — the close is firm, not cushioned.
Zargen is a frameless-style drawer system. Face-frame installation typically requires Zargen-specific rear mounting brackets to bridge the frame. Check the Grass accessory list for the correct bracket for your frame depth and order it alongside the drawer sides.
No. Front fixing brackets, rear brackets, cover caps, and gallery rails are engineered per Grass platform. Zargen components are not compatible with Nova Pro Scala, Vionaro, or other Grass systems, and they do not interchange with other brands.
The finish coverage for interior versus exterior faces is not specified in the source data. If uniform finish on all faces is critical to your application, confirm with Grass America before ordering.
When white cabinetry is the spec, the hardware behind the front should match the intention. The Zargen 6036 in white keeps 100 lb of drawer capacity and reliable self-close action out of view and in finish harmony with the build around it.
