The GSlide G-Slide series GS4270 is a 14 inch side-mount ball bearing drawer slide with integrated soft-close, 3/4 extension, and a 100 lb rating per pair. It is built for shallow cabinets and shorter drawers where damped, quiet closing matters as much as the slide length.
Shallow cabinets create a fitting challenge: a longer slide either bottoms out against the back panel or forces the drawer box shorter than the opening needs. At 14 inches, this slide is sized for bathroom vanity bases, small nightstands, and compact kitchen or utility cabinets where interior depth is limited. The soft-close feature matters most in these settings — bathroom drawers and bedroom furniture get opened and closed quietly, and a damped close keeps the hardware from taking impact over thousands of cycles. The 3/4 extension class is the right match here: most shallow drawers hold items near the front, and the rear section of the box that stays inside the cabinet is rarely the part being reached for.
The slide is cold-formed steel throughout, with the soft-close damper integrated into the slide body rather than added as a clip-on module. The zinc finish is the segment standard for indoor steel drawer hardware — protective, low-profile, and compatible with the white melamine and natural wood interiors common in residential cabinetry. This is a side-mount slide, visible beside the drawer box when open, so the functional zinc finish is appropriate for the application.

Match the slide length to your cabinet's interior depth. A 14 inch slide is best suited to cabinets with roughly 14 inches of usable interior depth. If your cabinet is deeper, a longer slide length will give the drawer more support and better travel.
