Most side-mount ball bearing slides top out at 100 to 150 lb per pair — enough for kitchen drawers and lateral files, but not for the kind of storage that gets loaded with steel hardware, power tools, or stacked materials. The 8900 series is built for that work. A 16 inch slide length suits shorter-depth tool cabinets, bench drawers, and shop carts where the interior depth is compact but the load is not. Standard motion means no closing mechanism — the drawer stays exactly where it is left, which is the right behavior for a drawer that gets yanked open and slammed shut dozens of times a day under a real load.
