The Knape and Vogt 1300 Series 18 inch roller slide is a zinc-finished, side-mount euro slide with hold-in and hold-out detents, designed for utility, shop, and office drawers where keeping the drawer put matters as much as opening it smoothly. Sold as a poly-pack pair and unhanded, it installs the same way on either side of the cabinet.
Not every drawer needs a closing ramp or a soft-close damper. In shop environments, utility rooms, home offices, and garage cabinets, the bigger concern is often a drawer that drifts open during vibration, rolls out when the floor isn't level, or falls closed mid-task when both hands are occupied. The 1300 Series answers those problems with mechanical detents at both ends of travel. The hold-in catches keep the drawer from wandering out of the closed position; the hold-out catches keep it from sliding shut while you're loading or pulling material. The result is a slide that stays where it's put, in both directions, without locking.
The zinc plating on these steel slides is a functional industrial finish, the kind that handles wear and contact in an active shop cabinet without demanding care. Neither. The 1300 Series has hold-in and hold-out detents only. It does not pull the drawer shut on a ramp, and it does not have a damper. The drawer stays wherever you leave it between the two detent positions.
It does not. Zinc is a plated steel finish, not an epoxy color coat. If the slide needs to blend into a painted or melamine cabinet interior, the white or almond epoxy versions are the better fit.
The same slide installs on either the left or right side of the drawer — there is no separate left-hand or right-hand part to keep track of. Both slides in the poly-pack are identical and interchangeable.
This is a 3/4-extension slide, so the rear portion of the drawer stays inside the cabinet at full open. It does not bring the entire drawer out to the cabinet face the way a full-extension slide would.
