A loaded lateral file drawer full of folders, binders, or office supplies can easily push past 100 lb. The 8500 series is KV's answer to that reality: a 150 lb class slide designed specifically for file and lateral drawer applications where a standard cabinet slide would be undersized. Full extension means the rear of the drawer comes all the way out to the cabinet opening, so nothing gets buried. The hold-in anti-rebound detent is especially useful in file applications, where a firmly pushed drawer can bounce back and stay ajar — this slide keeps it shut until pulled.
The slide is cold-formed steel with a zinc finish, the working standard for side-mount ball bearing hardware in indoor office and shop environments. Zinc plating protects the steel members against moisture and wear in normal service. No. 16 inches is the closed length of the slide. Because this is a full-extension slide, the drawer member travels approximately the full slide length, bringing the complete drawer out to the cabinet face. Slide length and drawer travel are two different measurements.
The slide requires support at the rear in face-frame construction. Add the matching KV rear mounting brackets, sold separately, to back up the slide where the cabinet side is set behind the face frame. Rear brackets for the 8500 series are series-specific and do not interchange with other KV lines.
