Most concealed hinges stop at 110 degrees, which is enough for everyday kitchen access. A 165 degree opening is a different proposition: the door swings back nearly parallel to the cabinet side, clearing the opening completely. That matters in corner configurations where the door would otherwise block a neighboring cabinet, on pantry and appliance-garage doors where full depth matters, and in accessible-design work where an unobstructed opening is required. The self-open mechanism takes the concept one step further, releasing the door outward from a closed position so it works naturally with handle-less fronts and push-to-open door systems. Note that at this opening angle, soft-close is not part of this hinge. The door does not have a built-in damper, so if a cushioned close is part of the design, a separate add-on damper is the path forward.

No. Salice plates are specific to Salice hinges. Plates from Blum, Grass, Hettich, or other brands will not connect to this hinge arm. Use Salice plates throughout.
