This Salice Series 100 concealed hinge brings half overlay geometry and Silentia soft-close to face-frame and frameless cabinets, installed via press-in dowels for a clean, screw-free cup mount.
Half overlay is the configuration for partial-overlay doors and, most commonly, for the pair of doors that meet on a single center partition. Each door overlaps the partition by roughly half, so the two arms nest side by side without collision. This hinge carries that geometry in the half crank arm, and the 35mm cup bores into the back of the door at a standard 45mm bore pattern. The hinge connects to a Salice base plate mounted on the cabinet, which is ordered separately. Plates are Salice-specific, so a plate from another brand will not engage this arm correctly.
The hinge is steel with a nickel finish, a neutral tone that blends into painted or natural interiors without drawing attention to the hardware. Silentia soft-close is built into the hinge body, so the damping is there from the first install and requires no separate adapter. The side adjustment of plus 4.5mm and minus 1.5mm, combined with plus or minus 2mm of height adjustment, gives enough range to bring paired doors on a shared partition to a matching reveal even after the box is set.
Cabinet shops running CNC-bored doors will appreciate the dowel mount: the cup presses into pre-bored dowel holes rather than using wood screws, which fits smoothly into a production boring workflow. It also suits remodelers replacing existing dowel-mount hinges where the bore holes are already in the door. Because this is a Series 100 hinge, it is sized for lighter cabinet doors; for heavier or taller doors, confirm the door weight against the manufacturer load table before specifying. The 105 degree opening is the designed angle for this series and configuration, not a shortcoming.
No. This hinge has Silentia soft-close, which uses a built-in damper to slow the door over the last few degrees so it does not slam. A self-close hinge uses a spring to pull the door shut but does not cushion the close. These are different mechanisms.
Yes. The hinge arm connects to a base plate that mounts to the cabinet, and that plate is sold separately. Use a Salice plate matched to your cabinet construction. Plates from other brands will not connect to this arm.
The cup carries pre-mounted dowels that press into bored holes in the door rather than using screws through the cup flange. This works well on CNC-bored doors where the dowel holes are already in the layout. If your doors use screw-mount cups, choose the screw-on version of this series instead.
No. The half crank arm is built for half overlay, where the door partially covers the cabinet side. A full overlay door needs a straight-arm full overlay hinge.
