This is a 20 inch full-extension side-mount ball bearing drawer slide from Knape and Vogt's 8600 series, rated 150 lb per pair and finished in zinc. Where the standard 100 lb cabinet class falls short, the 8600 steps in — handling the loads that utility, shop, and storage drawers actually put on hardware.
A loaded shop drawer, a tool chest pull-out, or a utility cabinet stacked with hardware can easily exceed what a standard kitchen slide is rated to carry. The 8600 series is built for exactly that gap: it installs like a standard side-mount ball bearing slide — one per side, 1/2 inch side clearance, 32mm hole pattern — but brings a 150 lb per pair rating that keeps the drawer moving smoothly under a real working load. Full extension means the back of the drawer is always reachable, which matters when the contents are heavy and sorted.
The slide is formed from steel with a bright zinc plating that protects against indoor corrosion through years of regular use. Zinc is the working standard for this class of slide — not a decorative finish, and not stainless. It holds up in dry interior environments: cabinetry, shop furniture, garage storage, and commercial casework. The finish is functional and largely out of sight once the drawer is in.

The 20 inch figure is the closed slide length. Full extension means the drawer member travels approximately the full length of the slide, bringing the entire drawer out to the cabinet face — but slide length and drawer travel are two separate specs.
No closing mechanism at all — no soft-close damper, no self-close spring, no hold-in detent. The drawer stops wherever you leave it. If a closing feature is needed, choose a different variant.
Side-mount slides need rear support in face-frame construction because the cabinet side is set back from the frame. Add the appropriate rear mounting brackets for this series — those are sold separately and are series-specific.
