Grass TEC 864 face frame hinge is a concealed cabinet hinge that combines a one piece hinge and base plate to simplify mounting on face frame cabinets. The 1-5/16 inch overlay design positions the door properly over the frame, which helps maintain consistent reveals across a run of cabinets. The hinge has a generous 108 degree opening angle, allowing doors to swing wide for better access to cabinet interiors. A pre-mounted soft-close damper is built into the hinge cup, so the door closes noiselessly without external components. An adjustable switch regulates the closing action, giving control over how firmly the soft-close engages. The hinge uses a dowel mounting style with a 45 mm boring pattern, aligning with many standard drilling setups. Front locating tabs position the hinge on the face frame, supporting repeatable alignment from door to door.
This Grass TEC 864 soft-close hinge uses a dowel mounting configuration, matching cabinet doors prepared for dowel-style hinge insertion. The hinge cup requires a 10.7 mm, or 7/16 inch, cup drilling depth, which aligns with common boring practices for concealed hinges. Grass lists both 42 mm and 45 mm boring patterns for the TEC system, and this hinge is identified with a 45 mm boring pattern, tying it to drilling layouts using that spacing. Front locating tabs position the hinge on the face frame, helping to seat the hinge consistently before securing it. The hinge offers 3 dimensional adjustment, with cam side and depth adjustment combined with height adjustment at the mounting screw, so the door can be shifted in all directions after mounting.
This Grass TEC 864 soft-close 1-5/16 inch overlay face frame hinge is designed for concealed mounting on face frame cabinets, providing a hidden hinge solution where the door overlays the frame. The generous 108 degree opening angle supports applications where users need wide access, such as base cabinets or storage units that hold larger items. The hinge is classified as a concealed cabinet hinge, aligning it with cabinetry that values clean exterior lines. The zinc die-cast hinge body with a nickel finish suits cabinet environments where a uniform internal hardware appearance is preferred. Being part of the TEC 864 family helps keep hinge specification consistent across multiple cabinet types within the same project.
The Grass TEC 864 hinge incorporates 3 dimensional adjustment, combining cam side adjustment, cam depth adjustment, and height adjustment at the mounting screw, which helps fine-tune door position after installation. This adjustment capability allows lateral, in-out, and vertical tuning, so reveals can be aligned along frames and between doors. The pre-mounted soft-close damper inside the hinge cup delivers noiseless closing, which matters in kitchens or work areas where door impact sound is disruptive. The adjustable switch that regulates the closing action lets the installer alter the soft-close behavior, tailoring how the door settles against the frame. Front locating tabs position the hinge on the face frame during mounting, supporting repeatability and helping maintain alignment from cabinet to cabinet. The 45 mm boring pattern connects to drilling systems using that dimension, aiding consistency when preparing multiple doors.
The Grass TEC 864 hinge is designed for face frame cabinets, so it mounts to the frame while keeping the hinge concealed when the door is closed.
The 1-5/16 inch overlay determines how far the door covers the face frame, which helps set consistent spacing and alignment across multiple cabinet doors.
The 108 degree opening angle lets the door swing wider than standard angles, improving access to cabinet interiors and reducing interference at the cabinet front.
The pre-mounted soft-close damper inside the hinge cup slows the door near closing, reducing slamming noise and impact at the frame.
The cam side and depth adjustments, plus height adjustment at the mounting screw, let the door move in all directions to fine-tune reveals around the opening.
This hinge uses a 10.7 mm, or 7/16 inch, cup drilling depth with a 45 mm boring pattern, aligning with common concealed hinge boring setups.
The Grass TEC 864 face frame hinge with 1-5/16 inch overlay, 108 degree opening angle, and built-in soft-close damper offers a concealed solution for overlay face frame cabinetry.
