This Fulterer 12 inch full-extension soft-close ball bearing drawer slide is built for smaller drawers that still deserve a smooth, quiet close. Rated 100 lb per pair, it mounts one per side on 1/2 inch of clearance and carries the entire drawer out to the cabinet face when opened.
Twelve-inch slides suit shallow drawers — spice pull-outs, bathroom vanity drawers, small utility boxes, and the top drawers in base cabinets where depth is limited. Full extension matters even in a short run: a 12 inch drawer in a bathroom vanity has nowhere to hide its contents, and pulling the whole box clear of the opening is the difference between reaching something and digging for it. The soft-close damper earns its keep in smaller drawers too, where an unloaded box can swing shut with more force than expected.
The slide is cold-formed steel with a zinc electroplate finish — the working standard for side-mount ball bearing slides used in dry indoor environments. Zinc is a functional finish: it protects the steel members through years of cycling without requiring any upkeep. It is not a decorative or stainless finish, and this slide is intended for indoor cabinetry only.
Cabinet shops fitting out bathroom vanities, small kitchen islands, and office furniture will find the 12 inch length fills the gap where a longer slide simply does not fit. Designers specifying handle-less or minimalist drawer fronts benefit from the soft-close damper, which prevents the slamming that handle-less fronts amplify. Homeowners replacing worn slides in a compact vanity or small built-in get a full-extension upgrade with no change to the mount position or side clearance. The non-handed design simplifies ordering for any of these buyers: one quantity, no hand-sorting.
Confirm the sold-as unit on the product listing before ordering — contact us if the pack quantity is unclear for your application.
Build the drawer box 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening. Each slide needs 1/2 inch of clearance between the drawer side and the cabinet interior, and the two slides together account for a full inch of width reduction.
Side-mount ball bearing slides need rear support in face-frame construction because the cabinet side is set back from the frame. Add the appropriate rear mounting brackets — these are sold separately and are series-specific — to support the back end of each slide.
No. Soft-close uses a built-in damper to slow the drawer over the last inch of travel and settle it shut quietly. Self-close uses a spring or ramp to pull the drawer closed without damping. This slide is soft-close: the drawer slows and closes on its own without slamming.
No — 12 inches is the closed length of the slide. Because this is a full-extension model, the drawer travels approximately the full slide length when opened, bringing the entire drawer box clear of the cabinet opening. Slide length and drawer travel are two separate measurements.
The Fulterer 12 inch soft-close slide gives compact drawers the same damped, full-extension performance found in full-depth kitchen cabinets — sized for the spaces where a longer slide simply will not fit.
