This Fulterer 16 inch full-extension soft-close ball bearing drawer slide delivers smooth, damped closing on a non-handed side-mount design rated 100 lb per pair. It is built for kitchen, utility, and shop drawers where a clean zinc finish and reliable motion feature matter more than a decorative look.
The soft-close mechanism is a true damper, not a self-closing spring ramp. Once the drawer is pushed to within a few inches of closed, the damper takes over and guides it home silently. That distinction matters in kitchens and shops where drawers are pulled and closed dozens of times a day under load. The 16 inch slide length suits standard base cabinet drawers and matches common drawer box depths in production cabinetry. Because this is a full-extension design with an intermediate member, the complete contents of the drawer are accessible at full open, not just the front two-thirds.
The slide members are cold-formed steel with a zinc electroplate finish. Zinc is the working standard for side-mount ball bearing slides: it resists the light moisture and wear of indoor cabinet use and holds up through years of daily cycling. The finish blends into the cabinet interior without drawing attention. This is an indoor slide; it is not rated for wet, washdown, or exterior environments.
At 16 inches, this slide suits drawers in 18 to 21 inch deep base cabinets, a common depth in kitchen and bath production. The 100 lb per pair rating covers pots and pans drawers, tool drawers, and moderately loaded shop bench drawers without stepping up to a heavier-duty class. Cabinetmakers who want soft-close motion on a standard-clearance, non-handed side-mount slide without switching mount systems or changing drawer box dimensions will find this a direct fit. In face-frame cabinets, the rear of the slide needs support from rear mounting brackets, sold separately and specific to the series.
It is a true soft-close slide. An integrated damper catches the drawer near the end of travel and slows it to a controlled, quiet close. A self-closing spring pulls the drawer shut without damping and can still slam; this slide does neither of those things.
No. 16 inches is the closed slide length. Because this is a full-extension slide, the drawer travels approximately its full length, bringing the entire drawer box clear of the cabinet opening. Slide length and drawer travel are two different specs.
No. The slide is non-handed, so both pieces in a pair are identical. Order one pair per drawer.
Yes, with the right rear support. Side-mount slides in face-frame cabinets need rear mounting brackets to support the back end of the slide, since the cabinet side is set back from the face frame. Brackets are sold separately and must match the series.
Build the drawer box 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening to leave 1/2 inch of clearance on each side for the slides.
The zinc finish keeps this slide invisible in the cabinet, the non-handed design keeps installation straightforward, and the damped close keeps the kitchen quiet. Order one pair per drawer.
