The Fulterer 22 inch full-extension soft-close ball bearing drawer slide brings damped, quiet closing to side-mount installations rated for 100 lb per pair. Built from steel with a zinc finish, it mounts one slide per side of the drawer box and delivers the full drawer to the cabinet face on every open.
A 22 inch slide fits the cabinet run most common in kitchen base work: deep enough for pots-and-pans drawers, utensil trays, and lower-cabinet storage where the rear contents need to be reachable and a slam at close day after day is the last thing anyone wants. The full-extension travel brings the back of the drawer completely past the cabinet face, so nothing disappears into the back corner. The soft-close damper is built into the slide itself, so there are no add-on accessories to fit or align — it works the first time the drawer is cycled.
Beyond the kitchen, the same 22 inch length suits home-office drawer pedestals, workshop storage cabinets, and bathroom vanity drawers where a clean, quiet close matters. At 100 lb per pair, the rating covers a drawer stacked with tools or loaded with towels without any concern about working the slides beyond their class.
The slide members are cold-formed steel carrying a zinc finish. Zinc is the working standard for side-mount ball bearing slides and performs well through years of indoor use — cycling through temperature and humidity swings without surface compromise. The zinc finish is a functional surface, not decorative, so it sits beside the drawer box mostly out of sight once the cabinet is in service. It is the right choice for frameless and face-frame residential and commercial casework indoors; it is not rated for wet, exterior, or high-humidity environments like laundry rooms without confirmed compatibility.
Cabinet shops running kitchen or bath projects will find the 22 inch length and 100 lb class covers the majority of standard base-cabinet drawer work in a single SKU. Designers specifying handle-less or minimalist fronts rely on soft-close to eliminate the mechanical thud that plain ball bearing slides produce at close. Contractors fitting out home offices or multi-family residential projects get a non-handed slide that installs fast — no sorting left from right, no special orientation at the rough-in stage. Homeowners replacing worn or noisy drawer hardware get a direct swap for any existing 22 inch side-mount slide running on 1/2 inch clearance per side.
It is a true damped soft-close. A damper module slows the drawer over the last inch of travel for a controlled, silent close — not an undamped spring that can still produce a hard stop.
No. Twenty-two inches is the closed length of the slide. Because this is a full-extension slide, the drawer travels the full slide length and the entire drawer clears the cabinet opening — but slide length and travel distance are two separate specs.
No. The slide is non-handed — both pieces in the pair are identical and fit either side of the drawer.
Each slide requires 1/2 inch of side clearance. Build the drawer box 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening to leave the correct gap on both sides.
Side-mount slides in face-frame cabinets need support at the rear of the slide where the cabinet side is set back from the face frame. Add the appropriate rear mounting brackets — sold separately and series-specific — to complete the installation.
When the zinc finish, 22 inch length, and 100 lb full-extension soft-close rating align with your project, this slide removes the noise and the guesswork from the drawer cycle — install it, load the drawer, and close it once to confirm it works exactly as expected.
