This is a 24 inch full-extension side-mount ball bearing drawer slide from Fulterer, rated 100 lb per pair, with an integrated soft-close damper and a zinc finish built for indoor cabinetry. It is part of Fulterer's FR 5001 soft-close line, the segment's dedicated damped-closing option at the standard 100 lb class.
A 24 inch drawer carries real volume: deep pot drawers, wide utensil pullouts, and file drawers all run at this length. Under load, an uncontrolled close lands hard. The integrated damper in this slide intercepts the drawer before it reaches the cabinet face and settles it shut on its own, regardless of how firmly it was pushed. That behavior holds whether the drawer is empty or loaded to the 100 lb limit. This is a true damped soft-close, not a self-closing ramp or a spring that merely pulls the drawer in without slowing it.
The slide members are cold-formed steel with a zinc finish. Zinc is the working standard for side-mount ball bearing slides in interior cabinetry: it protects the steel against the humidity and handling that accumulate in kitchens and utility rooms over time. The finish sits beside the drawer box in normal use and is not a decorative surface, so it is chosen for durability rather than appearance. It is an indoor finish — not rated for exterior or wet-area installations.
Kitchen cabinet shops and contractors fitting standard 24 inch drawer boxes will find this slide drops into the existing side-mount workflow without adjustment: 1/2 inch clearance per side, non-handed members, and a full-extension travel that brings the back of the drawer out to the opening. It is equally well suited to a homeowner replacing undersized slides on a deep kitchen drawer where a quiet close matters. The 100 lb per pair rating covers the great majority of residential and light commercial applications at this length. For face-frame cabinets, rear mounting brackets are required to support the back of the slide; those brackets are series-specific and sold separately.
Yes. Full extension brings the drawer member out approximately the full slide length, so the whole interior of the drawer is accessible at the cabinet face. The rear contents are reachable without tilting or reaching inside.
It is a true damped soft-close. An integrated damper slows the drawer over the final inch of closing travel. There is no undamped spring close — the mechanism is a damper, not a ramp or cam.
No. The slide is non-handed, so both pieces in the pair are the same part and either fits either side of the drawer box.
Build the drawer box 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening to leave 1/2 inch of side clearance for each slide. The 24 inch length refers to the closed slide, not the amount of travel.
Yes, but face-frame installations require rear mounting brackets to support the back end of the slide. Brackets are not included and must be ordered separately; use only the series-matched brackets for this slide.
The Fulterer 24 inch soft-close ball bearing slide brings damped, controlled closing to a full-extension, 100 lb rated side-mount installation, so the drawer settles shut every time without effort or noise.
