The 8505 series is built for file drawers: lateral files, deep storage drawers, and any drawer loaded with paper-weight contents that would push a standard kitchen slide past its limit. The 1 inch over-travel is the detail that separates the 8505 from the plain full-extension 8500 — when the drawer sits under a worktop overhang or behind a deep face frame, that extra inch of travel is what brings the rearmost hanging folders within reach. This left-hand cabinet member is the piece that mounts to the left interior wall of the cabinet; together with the right-hand cabinet member and the quick-disconnect drawer members, it makes a complete working pair for one drawer.
The cabinet member is cold-formed steel with a zinc finish — the 8505 series' standard for indoor corrosion resistance. The 8500 is full extension; the 8505 adds 1 inch of over-travel so the drawer pushes past the cabinet face. Both are in the 150 lb class with hold-in anti-rebound, but the 8505 reduces the maximum recommended drawer width to 30 inches versus 36 inches on the 8500.
No. The hold-in anti-rebound detent keeps the closed drawer from bouncing back open after a firm close — it does not dampen or pull the drawer shut. There is no spring assist and no damper on this slide.
