The Knape and Vogt 8505 series 30 inch slide is a side-mount ball bearing file drawer slide rated in the 150 lb class per pair, with 1 inch of over-travel that carries the drawer past full extension and clear of worktop overhangs. It is the right choice when a standard full-extension file slide runs out of travel before the files do.
At 30 inches, this slide is already sized for a deep file drawer. The 1 inch of over-travel on top of that matters most in two situations: when the drawer sits under a countertop overhang that blocks access at full extension, and when the cabinet has a deep face frame that eats into the opening. In both cases, a plain full-extension slide stops short and the back of the drawer stays out of reach. The 8505 pushes through that last inch so the rear hanging files come to the user instead of the other way around. Note that the maximum recommended drawer width for this series at 30 inches is 30 inches — size the box accordingly.
The slide is built from steel members with a zinc finish for indoor corrosion resistance. At the 150 lb class and 30 inch length, the steel profile is heavier than a standard cabinet slide — including a 3.79 inch height with the quick-disconnect rail in place. The zinc finish is a functional working surface, not decorative. These slides are designed to be tucked beside a drawer box and put to work, not showcased.

The 8505 series requires 1/2 inch of side clearance per side. Build the drawer box 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening — 1/2 inch on each side — to give each slide its required clearance.
