Fulterer FR5400SL 4-Pair Box 14" Hold-In/Hold-Out Side Mount Full Extension 550 lb Ball Bearing Drawer Slide, Zinc, 5363

Zinc Finish and 550 lb Capacity Where Drawers Take Real Punishment

This is a 14 inch full-extension side-mount ball bearing drawer slide from Fulterer, rated 550 lb per pair, with integrated hold-in and hold-out detents that lock the drawer positively in both the closed and fully open positions. Built for industrial, shop, and heavy-service applications where a standard cabinet slide would be out of its depth.

Key Features

• 550 lb weight capacity per pair — a true heavy-duty rating suited to toolboxes, equipment drawers, and loaded service trays.
• Full extension — the entire drawer clears the cabinet face, giving unobstructed access to the back of even a packed drawer.
• Hold-in detent — a mechanical catch keeps the drawer closed until intentionally pulled, with no bounce-back when shut firmly.
• Hold-out detent — the same detent system holds the drawer fully open until pushed closed, keeping both hands free at the work surface.
• Non-handed design — identical slides fit left and right, so there is no sorting on the bench and no risk of ordering a mismatched pair.
• Zinc-finished steel construction — a corrosion-resistant working finish on heavy cold-rolled steel members sized for the load class.

Where This Slide Earns Its Keep

A 550 lb rated slide is not a kitchen product. It belongs in environments where drawers carry genuine weight: rolling tool carts loaded with sockets and wrenches, shop assembly benches with heavy fixture drawers, service vehicles with parts trays, and industrial storage units that get opened and closed under load all day. The hold-in detent means a loaded drawer will not creep open on a sloped floor or vibrating surface. The hold-out keeps the tray extended hands-free while both hands are working inside it. Full extension brings the entire drawer out past the cabinet face so nothing gets buried at the back. At 14 inches, the slide suits compact service drawers and shorter chassis where a longer slide would not fit but the load requirement is still serious.

Materials and Finish

The slide is built from steel members sized for the 550 lb duty class, with a zinc finish for indoor corrosion resistance. Zinc is the working standard in ball bearing slides: functional, durable, and largely hidden in service. It is not a stainless or outdoor finish, so keep this slide in dry, indoor installations. The 3/4 inch side clearance per side is wider than the 1/2 inch standard of lighter-duty cabinet slides, which reflects the heavier profile of the steel members at this load class. Build the drawer box accordingly.

Specifying This Slide

This slide fits fabricators, maintenance shops, fleet service departments, and anyone building heavy-duty storage that needs both positions held. The 14 inch length suits tool storage units, compact service drawers, and mobile equipment where cabinet depth is limited. Because it is non-handed, one part number covers both sides of every drawer. The hold-in and hold-out detents work mechanically with no power and no batteries, which matters in shop and vehicle applications where powered motion features are a liability. This is a standard-motion slide beyond the detents: there is no soft-close damper and no spring self-close, so the drawer moves freely between the two detent positions.

The Right Slide for Drawers That Work as Hard as You Do

When the load is real and the drawer needs to stay put in both positions, this 14 inch Fulterer slide delivers the capacity and the control to keep the job moving without fuss.
