This Salice Series 200 concealed hinge hangs full overlay doors on frameless and face-frame cabinets, mounts via pre-bored dowel holes, and swings free with no spring or damper in the mechanism.
A free-swinging hinge holds the door at whatever angle it is left, which is exactly what some applications require. Push-to-open systems need a hinge with no spring resistance so the release mechanism can move the door without fighting a self-closer. Handle-less cabinet designs often specify free-swinging hinges for the same reason. The same applies to any cabinet where a magnetic catch or a separate closing mechanism handles door retention, and the hinge's only job is to carry the door through its arc.
This hinge works on both frameless and face-frame cabinets. The 35mm cup bores into the back of the door, and the arm connects to a Salice base plate mounted to the cabinet, ordered separately. That plate is Salice-specific: plates from other brands will not connect to this arm.
The hinge body is plated steel with a nickel finish. In a cabinet run where pulls, knobs, or other hardware are specified in nickel, this hinge carries that finish behind the door so nothing looks mismatched on a partially open cabinet. The arm adjusts side to side and in height after hanging, so an installer can correct small reveals across a run without removing the door.
The dowel mount suits CNC and production shops that pre-bore dowel holes as part of their door prep: the cup presses into the holes without cup screws, which keeps the door-side install fast and repeatable. For frameless production cabinets or face-frame boxes where a push-to-open touch latch is the closing system, this hinge is the correct pairing. If the project calls for a spring pull to keep the door closed on its own, choose the self-close version of this series instead. If quiet, cushioned closing is the priority, the Silentia+ soft-close version covers that need.
Not without a separate catch or latch. A free-swinging hinge has no spring and no damper, so it does not pull or hold the door shut. Pair it with a magnetic catch, a push-to-open latch, or another retention device.
Yes. The hinge arm connects to a Salice base plate that mounts to the cabinet, and that plate is sold separately. Use a Salice plate matched to your cabinet construction and the overlay position you need.
The cup carries pre-attached dowels that press into bored dowel holes in the door, so no cup screws are needed on the door side. Your door prep needs to include those dowel holes at the correct spacing.
This hinge does not have built-in soft-close and is not designed for an add-on damper. If soft-close is needed, specify the Silentia+ soft-close version of the Series 200 at the time of ordering.
Specify this hinge when the door's closing and retention are handled by another mechanism, and you need a full overlay concealed hinge that stays out of the way and holds its finish across the cabinet run.
