This is the left-hand cabinet member from Knape and Vogt's 1805 series — a 12 inch (300mm nominal), white epoxy-coated, self-closing roller slide component sold as a single handed piece. It is the cabinet-side profile that mounts to the interior of the cabinet; the drawer member and the matching right-hand cabinet member are ordered separately to complete a working drawer.
The 12 inch length — 300mm nominal in the KV 1805 metric system — is the shortest in the 1805 range, suited to shallow cabinet bays: spice drawers, bathroom vanity pull-outs, and small utility drawers in base cabinets where standard 18 or 22 inch slides simply won't fit. If the interior cabinet depth is tight, this is the member to reach for. The white finish makes it especially practical in face-frame and frameless cabinets with white or light-colored interiors, where an almond or zinc member would read as a mismatch. The self-closing ramp is a reliable closer for any setting where drawers need to stay shut on their own — closets, kids' rooms, or client kitchens where a banging drawer is a callback waiting to happen.
The 1805 cabinet member is steel with a white epoxy powder-coat finish — the same baked-on coating used throughout the KV 1805 series. The white matches the standard cabinet interior color common in domestic kitchen and bath production, which is why shops running white-box interiors specify this series: the slide hardware blends rather than contrasts. The nylon roller bearing system keeps the operating noise low and the motion smooth without the cost premium of ball-bearing telescopics. This is a member-level component, not a decorative piece, so the finish is applied to perform in a cabinet interior — not on a visible surface.
Cabinet shops and millwork operations running member-level ordering benefit most from this SKU — you order left-hand cabinet members, right-hand cabinet members, and drawer members in exactly the quantities your cut list calls for, rather than buying pairs that leave you with spare pieces. The Q-Pack format supports that workflow. One drawer requires one left-hand cabinet member, one right-hand cabinet member, and both drawer members, all from the 1805 series — components from other series or brands do not interchange. The 1805 mounts on the side with 1/2 inch of clearance per side, so the drawer box runs 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening. Knape and Vogt recommends a maximum drawer width of 18 inches for the 1805 series. In a face-frame cabinet, rear mounting sockets are required to support the back of the slide; those sockets are 1805-series-specific and sold separately.
No. This is the left-hand cabinet member only. You also need the right-hand cabinet member and both drawer members from the 1805 series to make one working drawer.
No. Slide length is the closed length of the member — 300mm nominal. This is a 3/4-extension slide, so the drawer travels roughly three-quarters of that distance; the rear portion stays inside the cabinet at full open.
They are different features. The 1805's self-close is a mechanical ramp that pulls the drawer positively shut — it is not a damped, slowed close. Soft-close uses a hydraulic damper to slow the drawer in the last inch of travel; the 1805 does not include that.
Yes. In a face-frame cabinet, the back end of the slide needs support from 1805-series rear mounting sockets. Those are a separate purchase and must come from the 1805 series — sockets from other series will not fit.
The 1805 series is available in white in this product list. Mixing finish colors from the same series is mechanically possible but will show mismatched components in the cabinet interior — typically not desirable in finished work.
When the cabinet box is white and shallow cabinet depth rules out a longer slide, this 12 inch left-hand cabinet member covers the job cleanly — order the matching right-hand member and both drawer members from the same 1805 series to close out the drawer.
