This is the left-hand cabinet member of Knape and Vogt's 1805 series — a 16 inch, white epoxy-coated, self-closing roller slide member for side-mount installation. It is sold as a single handed component, designed for production shops and replacement work that call for member-level ordering rather than full slide sets.
The 1805 series is a workhorse in production cabinetry: kitchens, bathroom vanities, laundry rooms, and closet built-ins where white interiors are the standard. At 16 inches, this cabinet member suits shallower drawer runs — spice pullouts, small utility drawers, and bedroom dresser drawers — where a longer slide would overshoot the available cabinet depth. The self-closing ramp means every drawer in the run pulls itself home without any follow-through from the user, which adds a finished, consistent feel across an entire kitchen or closet install.
The cabinet member is formed steel with a white epoxy powder-coat finish — the same standard color Knape and Vogt catalogs in metric nominal lengths from 300mm to 600mm across the 1805 line. This 16 inch member is the 400mm nominal size. Side clearance is 1/2 inch per side, so the drawer box needs to be built 1 inch narrower than the cabinet opening. The 1805 series accommodates the standard drawer side thicknesses used in production melamine work, and its roller bearing system runs quietly without the maintenance that ball-bearing systems occasionally need in high-cycle environments.
Cabinet shops running the 1805 series buy members separately when one hand is running low, when a single member needs replacing after damage, or when a new drawer run calls for a different length than what is already in stock. The Q-Pack format targets exactly that buyer: a production quantity in a single box, without the overage of a full carton. One-off remodelers replacing a single damaged member also find member-level ordering useful — buy the left-hand cabinet member, the matching right-hand, and both drawer members to outfit one drawer without committing to a full set inventory.
This is the left-hand cabinet member only. To run one drawer you also need the matching right-hand cabinet member and both left-hand and right-hand drawer members from the 1805 series. All four components must come from the same series — members from other brands or slide lines do not interchange with 1805 parts.
No. The 1805 series closes on a mechanical ramp — a positive, undamped self-close that pulls the drawer home once it enters the capture zone. It is not a damped soft-close, so the close is decisive rather than slowed. If you need a damped landing, look for a soft-close slide in a different series.
This is a 3/4-extension slide, so the drawer opens roughly three-quarters of its length before the back few inches stay inside the cabinet. It is the standard Euro slide travel class and works well for most kitchen and closet drawers where reaching the very back of the box is not critical.
Knape and Vogt recommends a maximum drawer width of 18 inches for the 1805 series. Build the box 1 inch narrower than the inside cabinet opening to leave 1/2 inch of side clearance per slide.
The Q-Pack piece count for this SKU is not confirmed in the available product data. Check the listing's quantity field or contact the sales desk before placing a production order to make sure the pack size fits your run.
Member-level ordering keeps your shop running on exactly the parts it needs — no excess, no wrong hand, no waiting on a full set. Add the left-hand cabinet member to your cart, pair it with its mates from the 1805 series, and keep the drawer run moving.
